Reading a Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) records how a manufacturer characterized a specific lot of material.
Typical entries include the product identity, the lot or batch number, the analytical methods used, and the figures those methods produced — for example a chromatographic purity percentage.
Reversed-phase HPLC is commonly used to report purity, and LC-MS is used to confirm identity by mass.
